Maine has been my home since birth. I graduated from Brunswick High School in 1970 and Cum Laude from the University of New Hampshire in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science. A strong interest in business and sales led me to join Morton Real Estate in 1977. The high ethical standards and business professionalism established by my mother, Deborah Morton, along with my growing passion for the business compelled me to become a business partner with her in 1981.

DEBORAH W. MORTON

After graduating from Reading High School in Reading Massachusetts, Deborah Morton attended the University of Maine in Orono. She was naturally attracted to the area because her mother and maternal grandmother were born and brought up in Bath, Maine, and her father was a proud graduate of Bowdoin College. She settled in Brunswick in 1962 with her husband, Douglas and five sons. In 1974 she joined her husband in the real estate business, and later that year became the Designated Broker of Morton Real Estate.

I was born in Great Britain and came to live in the United States in 1974. I met my husband, who is a Brunswick native, at York University in England while we were both obtaining our respective degrees in English and Music; we were married in 1971. We have two grown children, a grandson and live on the outskirts of Brunswick. During my years in the United States, I have taught elementary school in Harpswell and Bowdoinham, been a travel consultant and have worked at Bowdoin College, prior to taking up my profession in real estate.

KENNETH E. BETTS

Ken was raised in Brighton, Colorado, and graduated from Colorado State University with a B.A. degree in Industrial Construction Management. He was active in the B.P.O. Elks Lodge in Brighton and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Fort Lupton, Colorado. In 1969, Ken came to Brunswick as a naval officer and pilot. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in early 1972.
